After doing hours of research on putting up a Wikipedia style site using MediaWiki I decided to give up the battle. Yes, encyclopedia sites are very nice but what a lot of work they can turn into. We develope sites about Costa Rica that assist people with travel related products and issues. We are now considering putting up a blog here that would cover these topics. Maybe we will put up encyclopedia about Costa Rica.

Many people actually don't understand the issues that they will encounter while traveling to this Central American paradise. Yes the Spanish language can be a barrier for many, but you can usually always get that worked out. One of the key issues at hand is paying for a service such as a hotel, vacation rental, or cabina, and later finding out that your expectations were not meant. The Internet has a way of displaying everything in its splendor when actually in reality, you don't get what you see.

Planning a Vacation?

People planning vacations to Costa Rica can spend days researching hotels, locations to visit, activities, and travel arrangements. It can actually be very frustrating at times. Making international phone calls can get very expensive let alone being able to understand who you are talking to. Next you will be faced with issues of someone that has little or no valuable information for you, or they couldn't care a less about you because you are a foreigner. We find that 40% of the companies we do business with here in Costa Rica communication and service skills are an embarrassment to the country as a whole.

Your travel itinerary is finished

Now you are just leaving the international airport in San Jose or Liberia and your off to one of the more popular destinations like Tamarindo, Jaco Beach, Quepos, Arenal, or Monte Verde rain forest. Uh oh, where do you go? The maps here are nothing like what you might be accustomed to, road signs almost don't exist, drivers are total maniacs, and the road conditions where meant for cattle, not cars. Please be aware of the size of wholes you can find on city streets that can tear the front tire off a car completely. Like gutters with no grates or manholes with no plates.

What next you could ask? Well, ask someone how to get where you are going. Ask another person the same thing, and another. One of the three will tell you the opposite because it is entertaining to see you drive off in the wrong direction. How sad, but very true. The next person couldn't explain how to drive to their house because they don't really know where they live when using words to explain. Ask three, and make out the best you can.

Costa Rica Vacation the right way

I'm going now to sell you something for free! If you want to visit this country the best advice I can give you is to get a travel agent of some form. If you have a lot of money, use anybody that you want. If you don't find a decent tour guide that is a local Tico and honest. If you don't know one or no how to find one, drip me an email and I will point you in the right direction.

Honestly there are few things better in life than Costa Rica Sport Fishing. Why would one say that? There are many types of tours and activities in this destination with a vast array of earth born delights. Then there is the ocean and in this case, it's the Pacific Ocean. Few people today don't have some form of primal magnetic desire to be close to its warm crystal blue waters. Why not do it with your family or friends on a big boat cruising from the beach until where you lose sight of land. It's an experience unlike any other.

Many vacationers become fascinated with all this country has to offer and some seriously consider investing in property or some form of real estate. Land values have increased considerably over the last few years. In many cases over 300%. Does that still leave someone the opportunity to find good deals on Costa Rica Real Estate at this time? Yes it does, and it gives you a little insight on how your investment can build returns rapidly. Make sure you don't take the first real estate agent that comes your way. Spend the time and you will find some land or mountain property that will meet your budget and get you a good ROI.
